Bulandshahr: After the death of a youth here in Uttar Pradesh due to a snake bite, the family dipped his mortal remains in the Ganga river, believing that the poison from his body would be washed away and a miracle might happen, NDTV reported.
Deceased Mohit Kumar, a 20-year-old youth, went to vote in the Lok Sabha elections on April 26th and went to a park to spend the evening that day. He was bitten by a snake and was taken to a hospital. However, he was declared dead during treatment, and it was after that the family decided to immerse his body in Ganga.
Mohit is a resident of Jairampur Kudena village in the Anupshahar police station area in Bulandshahr. His relative said that locals in the village tied a knot around the wound to stop blood flow, but Mohit stopped speaking on the way to the hospital. They took him to Rana Hospital in the city, but the hospital authorities refused to take him in and advised him to take him to a government hospital. At the government hospital, doctors declared him dead, the relative said.
