New Delhi: The prices of petrol and diesel have been raised by Rs.3.18 and Rs.3.09 a litre respectively (ex-Delhi), effective midnight, following a steep increase in international crude prices, Indian Oil Corp (IOC) announced here Saturday.
Prices of the transport fuels were last revised upwards Feb 16 by less than a rupee per litre each.
"Since the above price revision, there has been further steep increase in international oil prices," state-run IOC said.
Allowing for local levies the new price of petrol per litre will be Rs.60.49 in Delhi, Rs.67.92 in Kolkata, Rs.68.14 in Mumbai and Rs.63.31 in Chennai.
Similarly for diesel the rates from Sunday will be Rs.49.71 in Delhi, Rs.54.29 in Kolkata, Rs.57.08 in Mumbai and Rs.52.92 in Chennai.
