Thiruvananthapuram: Prominent NRI businessman M A Yusuffali has been appointed director board member of the proposed new Kannur International Airport Ltd.

The decision in this regard was taken at a board meeting held here recently under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

Yusuffali has acquired 6 per cent stake in KIAL. At present, Yusuffali is also a Director of Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) with around 10 per cent shares, a press release said.

He also has invested in some private Kerala based banks, including Federal Bank, Catholic Syrian Bank and Dhanalaxmi Bank.
