Melbourne: Protests emerged against Indian industrialist Gautam Adani in Australia regarding the agreement he made with the military of Myanmar. Australian Centre for International Justice, the organisation which emerged with the protest, wrote to Indian stock exchanges demanding action against Adani.

The organisation has alleged that the statement released by Adani Ports on March 31 regarding the agreement is entirely misleading. They also accused the Adani group of sharing fake details regarding the deal. Several have been killed in Myanmar after the military overthrew the democratically elected government in a coup. Adani has made a deal with the Myanmar Economic Corporation controlled by the same military.

Meanwhile, the value of Adani Ports' shares increased 4.43 per cent in NSE (National Stock Exchange) and 4.47 per cent in BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) on April 1.
