Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurates iconic Trivandrum Lulu Malltext_fields
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday inaugurated India's biggest iconic Lulu Mall in Trivandrum at a grand opening function in the presence of dignitaries from different walks of life.
The Trivandrum Lulu Mall, which is located at Akkulam in the national capital, has opened for the public after paying tribute to the brave hearts of Indian soldiers on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vijay Diwas marking the historic victory of India in the 1971 war.
Opposition leader V D Satheeshan chaired the function. Food and Civil Supplies Minister G R Anil, Shashi Tharoor MP, Jose K Mani M P, P K Kunhalikutty, BJP State President K Surendran, actor Mammootty and other dignitaries attended the function. Former CM Oommen Chandy, Ramesh Chennithala, Kadakampally Surendran and others passed their wishes. UAE Foreign Trade Minister Dr Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi was Chief Guest in the function along with special invitee Dr Ahmed Abdul Rahman Albanna, UAE Ambassador to India.
Chief Minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan applauded LuLu group chairman M.A.Yusuff Ali for his efforts to promote the industrial growth of Kerala. He also slammed those who try to create obstacles in the path of development by spreading baseless allegations.
The leader of opposition in the State Assembly, V D Satheeshan, also lauded Yusuff Ali for his personal interest as a businessman in exerting efforts for the development of his native state.
"Another dream for my State became true and I am so proud at this moment," said LuLu group CMD Yusuff Ali M A in his inaugural speech.
"Kerala is an investment-friendly State and we are getting full cooperation from Pinarayi Vijayan led government, Yusuff Ali said adding that "by implementing more projects in the state we will be able to provide more job opportunities."
Trivandrum LuLu Mall could create more than 10,000 job opportunities, he noted.
Union Minister V Muraleedharan, who joined the inaugural function through video, praised Yusuff Ali's altruistic efforts to make more investments in Kerala.
Taking a witty note to highlight how deep-rooted the Lulu Mall as a business entity in the hearts of Malayalis, actor Mammootty said that it is not just Lulu Mall but Yusuff Ali is himself is big brand who is known even among Keralites who do not know the actor Mammootty.
Indian Green Building Council has awarded the Gold Certificate to the LuLu group during the function for Environment-friendly construction of the Mall.
The Mall will be opened today (17-12-21) for the public from 9 am onwards.
