Apple, the multinational tech giant behind the iPhone, has usually followed the strategy of making its products desirable, and it has achieved instant success to this end. Its products are used by many and are sought by even more. They are expensive yet innovative, which reflects on the company's rapid success. This time, a product is making heads turn in surprise. Apple is now selling a "polishing cloth" for Rs 1,900.
Interestingly, those who are interested in the product can also buy it at an EMI of ₹224 a month.
Apple said that the polishing cloth, compatible with iPhones as far back as the iPhone 6 and Macs dating back to 2012, is made of nonabrasive material and is already in short supply, requiring 3 to 4 weeks to ship.
"Made with soft, non-abrasive material, the Polishing Cloth cleans any Apply display, including nano-texture glass, safely and effectively." reads the product description on the Apple website.
According to a Bloomberg report, the product is in the running for Apple's highest-margin physical product.
In India, people are not used to paying such high price for a piece of cloth which will be used to clean dust. Most of the people use old clothes for the purpose, or buy it from e-tailers for a much cheaper price.
Unsurprisingly, this new launch by Apple has now sparked a flurry of memes and hilarious tweets from Indian netizens.
"Apple launched a "Polishing Cloth" to clean its devices for INR 1900 (25$). Waiting for them to launch a "Polishing cloth Pro Max" for INR 5000 which is bigger," a Twitter user Garv Malik wrote.
