New Delhi: Fuel prices continued to spiral up for the fifth day in a row, suffocating the country which is gasping for short of oxygen amid rising COVID cases.

Petrol price in Mumbai rose to Rs 97.86 per litre and diesel by Rs 89.17.

In Kerala, petrol price hiked by 26 paise per litre and diesel by 35 paise. After today's price hike, in Trivandrum, Kochi and Kozhikode, petrol price increased to Rs 93.51 per litre, Rs 93.73 and 92.02 respectively. In the case of diesel Rs 88.25 per litre, Rs 86.48 and Rs 86.88 respectively. Fuel prices rose up daily for the last few months but after the announcement of elections in five states, this practice came to an abrupt halt. Later resumed daily price revision after the election results were declared.

This is the 5th increase in rates since May 2.

Meanwhile, fuel prices have risen with the blaze as lockdowns have been declared in most states as part of the Covid defence, leaving ordinary people without jobs and wages.
