Feast: A short film on survival and cannibalism to be screened at 5 International Film Festivals

Thiruvananthapuram: Feast, a low budget short film officially released on January 1st this year is all set to appear in five International Short film Festivals in 2021. The film is developing in the context after the disappearance of four children. The unusual events that befall four of them who are imprisoned in a room, the clues that lead to the person who caused it.

The film 'Feast' goes through an unexpected ending. The experimental fictional short film has been selected for Nawada, Goa, Travancore, Gully and Reels International Film Festivals this year.

The film is a brotherly effort of director Arun Mohan, Anoop Mohan and their cousins. The film focuses on the effect of cannibalism, the act of consuming another individual of the same species as food and how the protagonists in the film dealing with consequences of the act.

While speaking with Madhyamam, Arun Mohan, the director and the story writer of 'Feast' said that "The idea came to our mind during the strict lockdown time in Kerala. Initially, we had only one thought how to make a brilliant concept well inside a four walled room. Fortunately, we were able to move it on. Except for sound designing, the film set on low budget. We made all the properties needed for the film by ourselves, thus we have enjoyed the process of shooting days.

"The situation of not getting food for survival is unimaginable and inhuman. It is important to focus the activities doing by human beings in such a condition of emptiness. A thirst to move on and survive in life is a difficult task in certain situations". He further added.

As per the director, the entire cast had gone through one-month training period for acting and living with the situation and shooting was completed within 2 days.

Arun Mohan and team are all set to move on with their future projects of scripting and film making in coming days.

Anand Binu, Akshay S, Amal TL and Abhiram H starred 'Feast' short film gives scope to technicalities in film making. The shortfilm is produced under the banner of Aynus Entertainments by Asif MA and Suzina Asif. Editing work is done by Anoop Mohan, Cinematography by Naveen BG, Music by Jayasurya SJ, Sound design and final mixing by Shefin Mayan.
