Kochi: An order has been issued by the Kochi RDO forbidding the use of the word Governor in a play in Cochin Carnival. RDO's order was based on a complaint filed the BJP Mattanchery Mandal Committee, after a play titled 'Governarum Thoppiyum' (Governor and Hat) was announced to be staged in the carnival.

The order also states that there should be no reference to central and state government or other constitutional positions, impersonation, costumes, speech, religious or political anything in the play.

The play was to be performed on Friday. Natak Kochi is the host of the play.

However, Natak Kochi said that the name of the play cannot be changed or the content can be changed, and the play will be presented in the next few days with the permission of the government.
