Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan resigns; gears up for second term

After leading the Left Democratic Front to a historic victory in the state, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan submitted his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Monday. The LDF won 99 seats in the 140 member assembly in the assembly polls conducted on April 6.

Khan has requested that Vijayan continue to be the caretaker CM. Vijayan is expected to swear in for the second term the next week.
