Stalin questions AIADMK on Vanniyar reservationtext_fields
DMK President and opposition's chief minister candidate MK Stalin questioned ruling party AIADMK and its allies to clarify their stance in the Vanniyar reservation while addressing the public at a function in Bodinayikannur, the constituency of Deputy CM O Panneerselvam. Stalin alleged that while Panneerselvam and Revenue Minister RB Udayakumar termed the 10.5 per cent reservation for the Vanniyar community under the Most Backward Community quota as provisional, PMK leader, Dr S Ramadoss had claimed it to be permanent.
Terming this as "clear cheating" on the part of the ruling party, Stalin called upon CM K Palaniswami to clarify the government's stance on the matter. He further added that if voted to power, DMK would enact reservation to satisfy all the communities.
Stalin slammed the Deputy CM in his very constituency, alleging that Pannerselvam had failed to cater to his constituency despite gaining power. "Panneerselvam neither brought development to his constituency nor was he true to his mentor J. Jayalalithaa. He staged a dharmayudh to know the truth on the death of Jayalalitha but after becoming Deputy Chief Minister, choose to remain silent," he said.
He also slammed the AIADMK saying every MLA elected from the party would be 'a BJP MLA', and called upon the public to defeat every AIADMK candidate.
