Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami has sent his government's resignation to Governor Banwarilal Purohit following the defeat of the AIADMK alliance in the state's assembly elections.

Palaniswami, the Joint Coordinator of AIADMK, wished DMK President MK Stalin, who is all set to be sworn in as the next Chief Minister in the state. The DMK and its allies won 152 seats in the 234-member assembly in the assembly polls conducted on April 6.
