Cheruthoni: The water level in Idukki dam is increasing at an alarming rate.
On Tuesday night, the water level in the dam was 2396.28 feet and it has risen to 2396.74 feet now.
There is heavy rain in the catchment areas of the dam. 128.6 mm rain was gauged there on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has informed that there is no need of anxiety regarding the present circumstances.
Water is being carried to Moolamattam power house for production of electricity. The board also informed that trial run will be staged when the water level reaches 2398 feet.
