New Delhi: The apex consumer commission has asked Indian Airlines to pay Rs 50,000 to a passenger and his daughter for delay in informing them about the cancellation of their flight because of which the girl missed an entrance exam and lost an academic year.
K. Balachandran Thampi from Kerala said in his complaint that since they were not informed about the cancellation of the flight to Bangalore on May 19, 2006, they could not make any alternative arrangements.
