Govt to take over Pariyaram, Kochi medical colleges

Thiruvananthapuram: The State Cabinet which met here on Wednesday has decided to take over the Pariyaram and Kochi medical colleges.

The government has instructed District Collectors of Kannur and Ernakulam to submit a report on assets and liabilities of Pariyaram Co-operative Medical College and Cochin Co-operative Medical College in view of its decision in principle to take over these institutions.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told a press conference after a cabinet meeting here that government would take a final decision after receiving the report.

On other decisions, he sad 40 acres of land with water resources department at Chakkitampara in Koyilandy would be given on lease for 30 years to set up CRPF camp.

Cabinet also approved the pay revision package of staff of Bekel Resorts Development Corporation Ltd.
