Reach out aggressively to people, Rajnath tells UP BJP

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh Tuesday told party leaders from Uttar Pradesh to "get aggressive" and reach out to people so as to win the most seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

As Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders from the State met here to chalk out a plan for the next general elections, Rajnath Singh stressed reaching out to grass root level to the voters.

"The party president has asked all leaders from Uttar Pradesh to get aggressive for the Lok Sabha polls, so that we can win maximum number of seats," party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said after the meeting.

Talking to reporters, Naqvi added that corruption and the law and order issues were in the focus for the polls.

"Corruption, law and order problems and the mismanagement of the State under both Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will be the focus," he said.

"Both SP and BSP are chums of Congress, they support Congress in centre and fight it in the state. The have cheated the voters in Uttar Pradesh," he said.

Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Lakshmikant Bajpai said party leaders would reach up to people at every booth.

He said further decisions will be taken in a meeting of party leaders in Lucknow on May 4.

Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to take place in 2014.
