New Delhi: As the national capital braces for more protests against rising rape cases, reports on Sunday claimed that the five-year-old girl ‘Gudiya’ was gang-raped by two people.

The five-year-old Delhi rape survivor is still in hospital but stable as the capital took to the streets once again to protest against rising rape cases. More protests are planned for Sunday also.

Delhi on Saturday erupted over the rape of a five-year-old girl with hundreds of people staging demonstrations across the national capital including residences of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and the Delhi Police Headquarters.

Demonstrations were held at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) too where the girl is undergoing treatment and outside the Gandhi Nagar police station where policemen allegedly showed laxity in dealing with the case.

The girl was abducted April 15 and kept hostage for two days without food and water in a room in which the attacker lived, on the ground floor of the building in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar, in which the victim's family also stayed, police said.

The accused Manoj Kumar, 25, was arrested from a village in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district early Saturday, police said.

The girl, who was repeatedly raped, was rescued when members of her family heard her screams Wednesday, police said.
