Thrissur: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan Saturday said that the ‘unity efforts’ of the SNDP and NSS leaders were just for their own benefits.
“Their efforts are to divide the people in the name of community. This will only help the growth of communalism in the society,” said the CPI-M leader.
NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair and SNDP general secretary Vellappally Nadeshan had said on Friday that that the government was neglecting the majority community.
Power was in the hands of three minority community Ministers and the majority community was forced to flee the land on account of the blatant policy of minority appeasement followed by the government, said the leaders at a press conference at the NSS headquarters at Perunna.
Criticising the remarks of the community leaders that the majority community is in fear in the State, Muslim League leader E T Muhammad Basheer termed the efforts of the two community leaders ‘cheap tactics’ with mysterious intentions.
