Kannur: The crime branch officials Saturday recorded statements of K K Rema, widow of slain RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan and her father in connection with the arrest of a 75-year-old man with an airgun and sword near the residence of CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan in Kannur district earlier in the month.

The police officials questioned Rema and her father at her residence in Onchiyam.

The police had also questioned some of the RMP leaders in connection with the case.

The man, identified as one Kunjikrishnan Nambiar from Valayam in Kozhikode district, was arrested after local people informed the police that he was moving near Vijayan's house in a suspicious manner.
