New Delhi: On queries from within the party over the probe report of the CPI-M on the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan not being released, politbureau member Sitaram Yechuri has said that it is upto party general secretary Prakash Karat to decide over the issue.
Yechuri, while talking to the media here, declined to react to the remarks of V S Achuthanandan on the issue.
“I can’t comment on that now. It is the party general secretary who should do that,” said Yechuri on Saturday.
Achuthanandan had on Friday sought an enquiry into the party probe report on Chandrasekharan murder not being released.
KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala had also asked Prakash Karat to publish the CPI-M probe report on T P murder.
"Tomorrow (Saturday), it's going to be a year since the murder. The CPI-M has been saying that its top brass has no role in it, then why cannot they release their report?" Chennithala told reporters here on Friday in the sidelines of his Kerala Yatra.
CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat said recently that the party had investigated the murder but the results of the probe were being withheld as the matter was subjudice.
