Thiruvananthapuram: Government Chief Whip and Kerala Congress leader P.C George on Thursday said he would accept whatever decision taken by the Privileges and Ethics Committee.
“I have not insulted anyone,” George told reporters after appearing before the panel.
George was asked to appear before the State Legislative Assembly's Privileges and Ethics Committee after a complaint filed by Deputy Leader of the Opposition Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The panel is chaired by K Muraleedharan.
George’s statement against Gowriyamma and T.V Thomas had triggered a controversy, with the CPM-led opposition bringing the issue before the House during the last Assembly session.
Following the controversy, the chief whip had publically apologized. However, the JSS, a constituent of the UDF, stuck to the demand for George's removal.
