Panel to study compensation for endosulfan victims

Thiruvananthapuram: The State Cabinet, which met here on Wednesday decided to reconstitute the committee formed to study the legal possibilities for setting up a tribunal for claiming compensation for endosulfan victims from pesticide companies.

Briefing to reporters on the Cabinet decisions, Chief Minister Ommen Chandy said retired High Court Judge C. N. Ramachandran Nair would head the committee in place of Advocate General K. P. Dandapani.

“The Director General of Prosecution and Law Secretary would continue as members. The Committee is to submit its report in three months,” Chandy said.
