New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani from the party's primary membership for six years.
The parliamentary board of the party met in New Delhi and decided to expell the Rajya Sabha MP for what it says is a "breach of discipline."
The party said that Jethmalani had expressed anti-party statements and so was being expelled from the party's primary membership for 6 years.
Jethmalani will continue as an independent Rajya Sabha MP for the time being.
Jethmalani was earlier suspended by the party for his tirade against the then chief Nitin Gadkari in last year.
