Probe report rules out phone tapping

Thiruvananthapuram: The probe report has ruled out phone tapping of NSS general secretray G Sukumaran Nair.

The report stated that there was no kind of phone tapping that took place. The report will be submitted by the Ernakulam IG Padmakumar.

The report also stated that further probe can be initiated if need arises.

Adding a new dimension to the current round of flare-up in factionalism in the Congress, NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair had alleged that his phone had been tapped by the intelligence wing of the state police.

He had also said that he had complained to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy about it and brought the matter to the notice of the Home Minister. However, no action had been taken.

Soon after Sukumaran Nair went public with the allegation, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan ordered an inquiry into the allegation.
