Saritha S Nair sent to judicial custody

Perumbavoor: The First Class Magistrate Court here remanded Saritha S Nair, who was arrested in connection with the solar plant cheating case, in judicial custody for 14 days.

Saritha Nair was arrested in the case registered by the Perumbavoor police for allegedly duping Sajjad of Perumbavoor of Rs. 40.5 lakh. The victim was made to part with the money after the couple promised him to set up a solar plant and a windmill farm.

A similar case is pending against the couple for allegedly cheating another person of Rs. 1.35 crore. Police said that there were complaints against them at Thalassery, Kozhikode, Pathanamthitta and Mallappally.

Saritha, since 2000, is alleged to have been involved in more than 13 cases of cheating. Her latest escapade was conducted under the name of Team Solar, a company believed to have cheated numerous people of crores of rupees on promise of supplying solar panels and putting up windmill farms.
