Thiruvananthapuram: Five senior police officers, including two Superintendents of Police (SPs), were suspended on Wednesday, in connection with the human trafficking case centred on the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery.

Bhuvanendran, SP, Traffic, Thiruvananthapuram South Zone; Jamaluddin, SP (Human Rights Commission); Mahesh Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch); N.V. Somarajan, Assistant Commandant, AR Camp, Malappuram; and sub-inspector George John were suspended in the case.

State Police Chief K.S. Balasubramanian had earlier suspended nine police officials suspected to be involved in the human trafficking case.
