Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Saturday said that the government will not shield any of the culprits in the solar scandal case.

“No guilty will be spared in the solar case. The wrongdoers will be found and punished,” said the Chief Minister while talking to the media at Aluva guest house.

Asked about the arrest of Tenny Joppan, Chany’s former personal assistant, he said the government will not interfere in the ongoing investigation. “The investigation will go in its way. There won’t be any form of government intervention. Nor will I try to evade responsibility by placing the blame on any innocent person,” he asserted.

Chandy returned to the State capital on Saturday morning after receiving the United Nations Public Service Award for 2013 at a glittering function held in Bahrain on Thursday.

Amidst a rousing reception by hundreds of Congress activists, Chandy a stepped out of the domestic terminal of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport around 11 a.m. Outside the airport, DYFI and Yuva Morcha activists waved black flags at three places as the Chief Minister’s car passed by, and demanded his resignation. Police had to use mild force to restrain the youth activists at all the three places and remove them.
