Thiruvananthapuram: The Principal Sessions Court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by PRD former director A Firoz, in a cheating case connected with the solar panel scandal.
The police, in its report, had told the court on Monday that they had evidence that Firoz had financially benefitted from the deal and opposed his anticipatory bail application.
Firoz was suspended for his involvement in the solar fraud case where Sarita S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan had duped a man of Rs 40 lakh after promising him help in obtaining a hefty bank loan.
The police case was that Firoz had introduced the duo as officials of the Asian Development Bank to a prominent builder in the city.
Firoz was one of three accused in the case that was registered in 2009. A report on Feroz's involvement in the case was given to the government (general administration department) in November 2010 by then City Police Commissioner.
