Lookout notice issued against Firoz in solar case

Thiruvananthapuram: The police on Wednesday issued a lookout notice against PRD former director A Firoz, who has been arraigned as third accused in the solar fraud case.

According to police sources, the investigators are on the search for Firoz as his anticipatory bail application to avoid arrest was rejected by a local court Tuesday.

Firoze was said to be under treatment in a hospital here. But the police could not trace him when they went to the hospital in search of him after the court turned down his anticipatory bail application, police sources said.

The Principal Sessions Court on Tuesday had rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by A Firoz, in the case.

The police had told the court on Monday that they had evidence that Firoz had financially benefitted from the deal.

Firoz was suspended from the service for his involvement in the solar fraud case where Sarita Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan had duped a man of Rs 40 lakh after promising him help in obtaining a hefty bank loan.

The police case was that Firoz had introduced the duo as officials of the Asian Development Bank to a prominent builder in the city. A report on Feroz's involvement in the case was given to the government (general administration department) in November 2010 by then City Police Commissioner.
