More UDF ministers, leaders involved in Saritha Callgate

Thiruvananthapuram: With the solar panel scam continuing to turn the heat on Congress-led UDF government, telephone call details gathered by investigators showed that several ministers and political leaders had made calls to Saritha Nair, the prime accused in the case, apart from getting frequent calls from her.

In the latest development in the scandal that has been troubling the UDF government for weeks, the call list released by Asianet News channel reveals that UDF ministers Adoor Prakash, Aryadan Muhammad, and A P Anil Kumar have made calls to Saritha’s number.

The data shows that the ministers Shibu Baby John, K C Joseph, and Jayalakshmi, and former minister Ganesh Kumar have also got phone calls from Saritha.

Names of some of the MLAs like P C Vishnunath, Mons Joseph, and Benny Behnan are also there in the list.

Saritha has also called KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, Kerala Congress (B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai, T Siddique and Jose K Mani. The date shows that Nasarullah, the personal assistant of minster A P Anil Kumar, had contacted Saritha constantly. Minister Adoor Prakash phoned Saritha from his official number seven times in a month.

It has been revealed that Mons Joseph called to Saritha’s number 107 times.

Meanwhile, the LDF Opposition has trained its guns on Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan as well by seizing on calls Saritha had made to him and his visit to the home of serial actress Shalu Menon, who is under the scanner.

"I get a large number of calls on my phone.I call back when I find a missed call on my phone. But I cut the line when I realise that the call is from undesirable persons", Thiruvanchoor responded to it.

A similar argument was advanced by Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash and Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar, whose names have figured in the call list. Minister Adoor Prakash said that he talked to Saritha over a complaint filed by a woman in his constituency. “Saritha had duped the woman of money. I intervened as the woman complained to me about Saritha,” said the Minister.
