Pakistani presidents chief security officer killed in bomb attack

Islamabad: At least three people including Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari's chief security officer Bilal Sheikh were killed and eight others injured when a bomb went off in southern port city of Karachi on Wednesday, hospital sources said.

Civil Hospital Karachi told media that Bilal Sheikh and two other people died on the spot while eight other people including policemen and passersby are being treated at the hospital.

Superintendent Police Jamshed Bajwa said that the bomb hit a bulletproof double cabin vehicle carrying Bilal Sheikh when it passed by Guru Mandar area of Karachi, accompanied by a police squad.

Police said that Bilal was on his way home after visiting President Zaradari at his residence Bilawal House.

Police cordoned off the area and kicked off investigations.

President Zardari condemned the killing of his security official and directed police to quicken the investigation process.
