Thiruvananthapuram: A special police team has been formed to nab former PRD director A. Firoz, an accused in the solar fraud case.
The Kerala High Court Monday had slammed the police for not arresting A. Firoz. The court pointed out that the police did not arrest him when he was recently admitted to a hospital and wanted to know why he was evading arrest.
Firoz was suspended for his involvement in the solar fraud case where Sarita S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan had duped a man of Rs 40 lakh after promising him help in obtaining a hefty bank loan.
The police case was that Firoz had introduced the duo as officials of the Asian Development Bank to a prominent builder in the city.
Firoz was one of three accused in the case that was registered in 2009. A report on Feroz's involvement in the case was given to the government (general administration department) in November 2010 by then City Police Commissioner.
