Kochi: A Judicial Magistrate here on Saturday recorded testimony of con-woman Saritha S Nair, one of the prime accused in the solar scandal case.
Ernakulum Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Finance) recorded Saritha’s testimony in the presence of her counsel Fenny Balakrishnan and government additional prosecutor.
Saritha was produced before the magistrate as her remand ended today (Saturday). Ordering the extension of the remand to August 19, the magistrate asked her if she had anything to say followed by which she said she had something confidential.
The magistrate recorded the testimony at 1.30pm and asked the accused and her counsel not to make it public. It also asked Saritha’s counsel to submit a written form of the testimony.
It is reported that the written form of the testimony will later be filed in the court as her statement.
Meanwhile, Fenny Balakrishanan, while talking to media persons, refused to divulge further details. “Whatever she wanted to tell, she has told the magistrate. That is confidential and the court has ordered not to reveal it,” he told reporters outside the court.
Fenny had earlier the day said that Saritha might reveal names of some of the biggies involved in the scandal. “The investigation is only centered on Saritha, Biju Radhakrishnan and Tenny Joppan,” he said adding the role of the other persons should also be investigated.
