Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday adjourned to July 31 the hearing on the bail plea of Abdul Nasser Ma’dani.
The court deferred the hearing on the bail application after the counsel, appearing for Ma’dani, sought more time to file counter affidavit.
The government prosecutor opposed the bail plea claiming that Ma’dani was accused in 57 blast cases and that he had a long criminal record. It was also alleged that Ma’dani had links with terrorist outfits in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Opposing claims of health problems by Ma’dani's counsel, the prosecutor argued there was no need to grant him bail for availing treatment.
Ma’dani's counsel said that the allegations were not listed even in the charge sheet filed against the PDP leader.
