Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala is likely to be inducted into the State Cabinet, according to sources in Delhi.

As per the reports, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has asked Chennithala to change his stand and join the Cabinet.

The final decision on the matter, which has put the UDF government in the State in a deadlock, will be declared after a meeting between Sonia Gandhi and Chennithala scheduled to take place Wednesday afternoon.

The KPCC president earlier the day met A K Antony in the national capital. Talking to reporters, Chennithala said he had conveyed all the issues to the Union Minister and the High Command would take the final decision in the matters related to the Cabinet reshuffle.

Asked if he had changed his earlier stand to not join the Cabinet, he said he had already cleared his opinion.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here said the High Command would take the final call on the matters of Cabinet rejig. He also said the Congress would consult with all the allies in the Front before any conclusion.

Enquired of the protest of the leaders of the smaller allies in the Front for not being included in the discussions, Chandy said there was no crisis in the UDF.
