Kerala Congress (B), IUML backtrack from Delhi trip

Kozhikode: Kerala Congress (M) and IUML, two of the biggest allies of Congress in the UDF, have backtracked from their leaders’ Delhi trip to take part in the winding-up discussions over the Cabinet reshuffle in the State.

Muslim League secretary E T Muhammed Basheer said on Thursday that he or any other party leader would not be going to Delhi along with the Chief Minster. The declaration came after the chief minister met the League leaders at the League House here earlier the day.

Chief Minster Oommen Chandy, meanwhile, said all the discussions over the much-awaited Cabinet rejig were over and he was optimistic of a fair outcome.

“The final decision is, however, of the Congress High Command,” he said.

Asked about the meeting with League leaders at the League House, Chandy said it “was just a friendly talk.”
