Quetta: Police said gunmen have shot and killed six people and wounded 15 in an attack on a former lawmaker outside a mosque in south-western Pakistan.
Police officer Bashir Ahmad Barohi said it seems opponents of a former provincial minister Ali Madad Jatak were involved in the attack on Friday in Quetta. Mr. Jatak escaped unharmed.
Mr. Barohi said the attack took place when Mr. Jatak and a group of his supporters were coming out of the mosque after sunrise prayers.
The attack came a day after a Taliban suicide bomber attacked a police officer’s funeral in Quetta, killing 30 people, including a senior officer.
