Los Angeles: Adele has been reportedly approached to play a villain in The Secret Service, which also features David Beckham and Elton John.

The 25-year-old, who sang the theme song of "Skyfall", will have a cameo in the new spy film, directed by Matthew Vaughn, reports contactmusic.com.

"Adele is exactly what Matthew is looking for. He wants the highest-profile names in various fields to boost the film's cause and turn it into a mega-money franchise,’ said a source.

"You can't get much bigger than Adele in music, which is why he's so keen to get her involved. She'll be great value on the big screen,’ the source added.

A spokesman for Adele has refused to comment on the news.
