Solar case: VS gets party nod for legal battle

New Delhi: The CPI-M central leadership on Saturday gave permission to Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan to take up a legal fight in the solar case.

According to reports, Achuthanandan held talks with CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat and informed his unhappiness on calling off the siege at the Secretariat prematurely.

On the developments in Kerala, CPI-M has decided to send a team of top politburo leaders to Kerala where it has been leading an agitation to demand resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy over the solar panel scam.

Senior Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechuri said the PB Commission would be visiting Kerala after Parliament session.

"The State government has accepted our demand for setting up a judicial probe into the solar scam and we will wait for the commission to end its inquiry," a party member said.
