Kotayam: Karnataka Home Minister K J George on Sunday said that the Congress government can’t interfere in the case related to the bail plea of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Ma’dani.
The minister was talking to the media here.
“The arguments of the government prosecutors in the court are based on the FIR prepared during the tenure of the previous government in the State. The prosecution stand in the case cannot be changed according to changes in governments. Since the matter is subjudice, it’s up to the court to take a decision on Ma’dani’s bail application,” said the minister.
He rebuffed reports that the prosecution submitted Ma’dani’s medical report in late. “It’s not true that government did not provide medical treatment to him. However, we will enquire into the allegation if we get a complaint,” said George.
Madani is lodged in the central prison in Bangalore since his arrest in August 2010 in connection with the July 2008 serial bomb blasts in the city in which one person was killed and 20 others were injured.
