Kochi: Reiterating that there is no change in its stand on the Lulu Mall issue, CPI-M Ernakulam district secretary Dinesh Mani has said the Lulu group has encroached land at Edappally in Kochi.
“The CPI-M rejects resurvey report, which had not found any instances of violations at Edappally land,” Dinesh Mani told reporters.
“Pinarayi Vijayan did not take any stand favouring the Lulu Mall project,” he added.
In contrast to the CPI-M Ernakulam committee’s stand on the issue, CPI-M State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan had earlier said his party was not against NRI entrepreneur M A Yusuf Ali going ahead with his mega convention centre project in Kochi.
Vijayan had also said his party would not stage any stir against Ali owned Lulu Mall at Edapally near Kochi on the ground that its presence had been causing huge traffic snarl in the area, as noted by CPI-M leaders in Ernakulam.
