Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government has decided to sanction Rs 155.89 crores for the repair and renovation of roads to Sabarimala.

Announcing various projects as part of increasing the facilities at Sabarimala, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday said that the government would ensure coordinated work of all the departments during the next mandala-makaravilakku season.

As part of the renovation works at Sabarimala, the Pampa- Marakootam Swami Ayappan road will be laid with another layer of concrete.

“The works of Kanamala bridge will be completed before the start of the season. Drinking water facility will be developed by constructing a parallel pipe line from Pampa to Sannidanam. The government will start work of Arogya Bhavan this season itself,” said the chief minister.

To provide the devotees with more facilities, Karunya medical stores will be opened at Pampa and Sannidanam. There will be more KSRTC services this year.

As part of increasing the facilities, fly over will be constructed at Malikappuram. The chief minister informed that the Cabinet had sanctioned Rs 4.5 crores to construct police mess at Pampa and Sannidanam.
