Gurgaon: A 65-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of a building in Gurgaon, police said.

Reportedly depressed, the man - identified as CS Chandra from Kerala - jumped from a flat in the building on Sohna Road in the afternoon when his son and daughter-in-law were in office, police said.

"Mr Chandra was depressed after the death of his wife a year ago. He came to Gurgaon three days back for treatment," Ashok Dagar, chief of Sadar police station, told IANS.

He left a suicide note saying he did not require treatment and had no complaint against his son Sabhik Chandra, a senior executive with a private firm, and his wife.

"He had two sons, one working with a private company in Gurgaon and the other in Chennai. He remained upset after his wife's death," Mr Dagar said.
