Kozhikode: Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) planned to construct two theatres at an estimated cost of Rs 6.50 crore in Alappuzha this year, a top official said Thursday.
KSFDC, which already owns ten theatres, including three twin theatres (Kairali/Sree) in different places, aimed at inaugurating the new ones during Vishu festival (April) next year, its Chairman Sabu Cherian told reporters here.
He also said the twin theatres of Kairali and Sree here had been modernised at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore, equipping them with 7.1 sound system and HD screens besides push-back seats.
KSFDC was planning to renovate the Kairali-Sree theatres in Thrissur next month, he said.
