New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stayed all the proceedings before the Kerala High Court in the case related to allegations of attempted sexual abuse at Southern Naval Command in Kochi.
A Bench of Justices P Sathasivam and Ranjana P Desai restrained the High Court from entertaining the petitions moved by two co-accused in the case, seeking quashing of the FIR against them.
The Supreme Court directed to send notice to state DGP and Kochi city police commissioner and other investigating officials.
The complainant, in her plea, had requested to hand over the case to the CBI. She pointed out that even after continuous requests, the state police was not ready to register rape case.
The case relates to allegation by a Navy wife that wife swapping and gang rape by colleagues and senior officers took place at Southern Naval Command.
