Scared to live in a land of killers: Mohan Laltext_fields
Kochi: In a context where heated discussions doing the rounds on the silence of social intelligentsia of state on the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan, the words of Malayalam superstar and national award winning actor Mohan Lal on the issue have attracted much response from the social fraternity and the 'netizens.'
Mohan Lal has expressed deep anguish and disgust over the murder of CPI-M rebel T P Chandrasekharan, who was hacked to death at Kozhikkode on May 5th.
The actor writing a solemn note on his blog to express his deep pain on his 52nd birthday, has said that he feels disgruntled to live in a place where people kill and make others kill. ‘I feel disgusted and scared,’ he said.
'An otherwise joyous day has been shrouded by the sadness of Chandrasekharan’s murder.' He said he can very closely personalise the intense sorrow of the slain leader’s mother.
‘If I could experience my mother’s tenderness while something bad happened to me, I can certainly understand the state of mind of Chandrasekharan's mother,’ he wrote on the blog.
His write up is discussed significantly in a context where the cultural leaders are under criticism for keeping mum on the murder. No other political murder has stirred the state’s conscience this much.
