Thiruvananthapuram: The State government is likely to seek services of a district judge to carry out the judicial probe ordered into the solar scandal case.
As per reports, the government decided to seek service of a district judge after a full court meeting of the High Court judges Monday declined its plea to provide the services of a sitting judge for probing the case.
The government is also considering service of retired judges of the High Court or Supreme Court. The Cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday will take a final call on the issue.
This was the second time that the high court turned down the government's request to provide it the services of a sitting judge for the scam. The request was earlier declined due to the paucity of sitting judges and considering the workload of the high court.
