Thiruvananthapuram: The Principal Sessions Court awarded death sentence to the first accused Sherif of Chirayankeezhu and life terms for the second accused Sanober of Mudapuram in the Salim murder case.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 10 lakh on the convicts which should be paid to the wife of the deceased.
Sherif was found guilty of charges of criminal conspiracy, abetment of murder, kidnapping, causing hurt by poison and murder. The second accused Sanober was found guilty of criminal conspiracy and murder.
The case pertains to the gruesome murder of Salim in July 2011 by the accused so as to not return a loan of nearly Rs 1.50 crore.
The first accused Shereef had conspired with the second accused Sanofer and murdered Salim. The corpse was cut into 16 pieces, packed in polythene kits and buried on the compound of Shereef’s home.
