Kochi: The High Court on Wednesday rejected a petition seeking a fresh investigation into Rajya Sabha deputy chairman P J Kurien's role in the Suryanelli sex scandal.
The victim filed the plea challenging the Thodupuzha sessions court upholding a magistrate court's order, refusing to arraign Kurien.
The woman raised the request for a fresh probe after revelations by Dharmarajan, the prime accused. She also complained that no proper investigation had been conducted against Kurien and two others, Jamal and Unnikrishnan.
Justice P Bhavadasan, before whom the petition came up, rejected the plea of the victim.
The sex scandal took place at Suryanelli in Idukki in January 1996. Then woman, then a 16-year-old was threatened, abducted and abused by a bus conductor and was later confined and sexually assaulted for 45 days by 42 men.
