Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet on Wednesday appointed retired Judge Shivarajan as judicial commission to probe the solar panel scandal case.
Justice Shivarajan, whose tenure will be 6 months, will investigate cases filed from 2006 in connection with the scandal.
The Cabinet decided to appoint a retired judge as the commission as the High Court declined the state government's plea to provide the services of a sitting judge for probing the scam.
The scam pertains to alleged cheating of scores of people by accused Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha Nair, both under arrest, by offering clients solar energy solutions. They allegedly flaunted their clout with the CM's office to dupe the clients of huge sums.
